Pan-African agricultural infrastructure · starting in Mozambique

Building the operating system for African agriculture.

WEMA connects smallholder farmers, buyers, transporters, and rural service providers — with an AI copilot grounded in local crops and languages. Mozambique is where we start. The continent is the plan.

The harvest is real.
The market rarely is.

ACCESS

A good harvest still needs a buyer who can be reached. The road, the phone signal, and the middlemen in between all take their cut before the crop ever meets a fair price.

INFORMATION

Prices, transport, and storage travel by word of mouth. Nobody plans a planting season around information they can actually trust.

TOOLING

The software exists. It wasn't built for here. Not for low bandwidth, not in Portuguese, and not for a smallholder's margin.

What we're building

One marketplace for the whole value chain — anywhere it's grown.

  • Farmers list what they grow and see real demand, not rumors.
  • Buyers order directly, at a price set by the market — not the middleman.
  • Transporters pick up deliveries that already have a destination.
  • Service providers — vets, machinery, agronomists — are one request away.
AI, grounded in the field

An assistant trained on local crops, seasons, and conditions — answering in Portuguese, offline-first, built for a smallholder asking a real question about a real field.

We're building this in the open with Google's AI models, through the Google Africa Applied AI Lab — early access, not a finished claim.

Early access

We're opening access ahead of the next harvest.

Farmer, buyer, transporter, or partner — wherever you are on the continent, tell us where you fit in.
